20th Beidou Satellite Launched

The 20th satellite of the Chinese Beidou constellation has been launched on September 30, 2015 from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan. Beidou is yet another GNSS in competition to the American GPS, the Russian GLONASS and the European Galileo.While the European Galileo system is stil being in a test phase, Beidou has already a regional coverage over Asia and may be used there for navigation and positioning.

According to the German version of the site, this is the 4th satellite of a new generation of Beidou satellites.
