Galileo status after November 17, 2016 launch

Today’s Ariane 5 launch brought 4 Galileo satellites flawlessly into their destination orbits. Now the ground crews have to check the in-orbit functionality of these satellites. Between April and June next year the new satellites are expected to be¬†operational.

The next milestone will be the declaration of Initial Services Operational, which has been expressed in today’s laudatory speeches as a wish for this year’s Christmas.
