Three GLONASS satellites lost due to launch failure
Tonight another launch of 3 GLONASS satellites had ended in a crash. Within half of a minute after liftoff the Proton rocket ended in a huge fireball in the steppes of Kazakhstan. The launch failure continues the late sequence of difficulties in the Russian space program. Also the GLONASS program has been already hit by a loss of three satellites in December 2010.
The two Galileo satellites scheduled for launch in October this year will be on a different Russian carrier (Soyuz 1-2b) operated any Arianespace from Guiana Space Center.
